Uttara Kannada

Where Forests, Rivers, and the Sea Coexist

Overview

Spanning mountains, dense forests, winding rivers, and an unspoilt coastline, Uttara Kannada is one of Karnataka’s most geographically diverse districts. Known for its quiet beaches, deep forests, and river valleys, the region offers immersive experiences shaped by nature rather than monuments.

Uttara Kannada moves at its own rhythm. Sacred temples sit beside forest trails, rivers carve through wildlife reserves, and coastal towns retain a calm, old world charm. This is a district for travellers who seek space, silence, and authenticity, where Karnataka’s natural wealth unfolds without interruption.

The Natural Heritage Circuit (Landscape & Ecology)

Uttara Kannada is defined by its terrain, where the Western Ghats meet the Arabian Sea.
