Government Plans Pilgrims Centre For Karnataka Devotees:

The government has come up with a new proposal that will promote tourism by introducing a pilgrims centre in Ayodhya and a theme park at Kabini. The budget introduced also offers better funding for the development of more spots around the 320Km coastline in the state. Chief Minister Of Karnataka Shri B.S Yediyurappa stated that the work on the pilgrims center would begin this year.

Uttar Pradesh would give 5 acres of land for the project whilst the Karnataka government will be funding it by giving 10crore to start the work. The Theme Park would be located downstream of Kabini reservoir in the Mysuru district. The park would be public-private ownership with an estimated cost of 50 crores. The government plans to introduce facilities  for the tourists at places like Thrasi, Maravanthe, Ottiene, and beaches near Udupi. For development at the Someshwar beach in Byndoor taluk, the government plans to spend some money as well. To support the activities at Kudatini, Ballari where an ash mound is located in between the BTPS and Toranagallu that is considered a transition site of the Neolithic and Iron age, the budget presented is 5 crores.

Ecotourism is another major area of concern and development. The government has taken a call to hand over the famous Nandi Giridhama located in Chikkaballapur and Kemmangundi to the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and the Jungle Lodges and Resorts. This would not only help in the development of the area but also it will develop it as an international place for ecotourism. Chief minister stated that the PPP model has been finalized which will be creating an eco-tourism park on an area of the 1,000-acre area in Taddi around Uttara Kannada
