Uttara Kannada is a coastal wonderland of golden beaches, verdant forests, and sacred temples. From the crashing waves of Gokarna to the serene backwaters of Kali, this district is a paradise for nature and culture lovers.

  1. Gokarna is revered as much for its temples as for its pristine beaches.
  2. Dandeli’s Kali River is a hub for white-water rafting and adventure sports.
  3. Mirjan Fort is said to have witnessed many battles of the Pepper Queen, Chennabhairadevi.
  4. Anshi National Park (part of Kali Tiger Reserve) shelters endangered black panthers.

How to Reach?
By Road: Well-connected by NH66, buses ply from Bengaluru, Goa, and Mangalore.
By Rail: Karwar, Kumta, and Ankola stations serve the region.
By Air: Nearest airports are Goa (Dabolim, 90 km) and Hubballi (120 km).
