Someshwara Beach

Large rocks (Rudra Shile), Quiet, Serene Shores.

Introduction

Someshwara Beach, situated near Mangaluru in Dakshina Kannada, is famous for its natural beauty, tranquility, and the iconic Rudra Shile. This pristine coastal stretch is a quiet sanctuary, offering a stark contrast to the city’s hustle and bustle, making it ideal for peaceful reflection and strong wave watching.

  • The beach is named after the Someshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located right next to the shore.
  • Rudra Shile is a large cluster of black rocks visible when the tide is low, believed to be the spot where the great Sage Sukadeva meditated.
