Ottinene Beach

Ottinene beach is a scenic beach in coastal Karnataka, popular because of an elevated cliff that offers captivating views of the beach below.

Ottinene Beach: The beach and backwaters is a scenic beach where the Byndoor river enters Arabian sea. The shallow beach area, with hills in one corner is safe, scenic and photogenic. Sunset view is worth waiting for.

Kshitija Nesara Dhama: Kshitija Nesara dhama is a small park overlooking the beach. It has a few cottages for stay, a view point, large grassland and a hiking trail down the woods towards the beach.

Someshwara Temple: a small but popular Shiva temple right next to Ottinene beach.

Places to visit near the Beach: Maravanthe beach (25 kms), Kollur Mookambika Temple (35kms), Murudeshwara (34 kms) are some of the other spots worth visiting along with Ottinene Beach.

How to reach the Beach: Ottinene beach is 440 kms from Bengaluru and 125 kms from Mangaluru (nearest airport). Mookambika road Byndoor railway station is just 4 kms from the beach. Buses are available till Byndoor town and from there, auto can be hired to reach the beach.

Places to stay near the Beach: Kshitija Nesara Dhama has a couple of cottages right above the beach, which can be booked by contacting the Forest Department office in Kundapura. Sai Vishram beach resort is a luxury property very close to the beach. More stay options are available in Byndoor and Kundapura (35 kms from Ottinene) towns.
