Introduction
Located in Haveri district, Bankapura Peacock Sanctuary is a unique protected area set inside the ancient Bankapura Fort. Spread over 139 acres, it provides a safe habitat for more than 1,000 peacocks and peahens, making it one of the best places in Karnataka to see India’s national bird in the wild.
