The Cherrapunji of the South, Wrapped in Mist and Mystery

Tucked into the Western Ghats of Shivamogga district, Agumbe is one of Karnataka’s most atmospheric and ecologically rich hill stations. Known for receiving one of the highest rainfalls in South India, Agumbe is a place of ancient forests, hidden waterfalls, and silent, misty evenings.

It’s often compared to Cherrapunji for its lush climate, but also revered as the setting of the beloved TV series Malgudi Days.
