  • By Air: Mangalore (135 km) is the nearest airport. Bangalore International airport is about 300 km away. Kannur International Airport (Kerala) is about 120 km away. Coorg/Madikeri doesn’t have an airport.
  • By Rail: Coorg/Madikeri doesn’t have a railway station. The nearest stations are Mysore, Hassan, or Mangalore (100 km to 120 km away), which are well connected with major cities.
  • By Road: The best and only way to reach Coorg/Madikeri are by road. State transport buses and taxis ply from Bangalore, Mangalore, Hassan, and Mysore.

  • Madikeri town (48 km away) has various stay options.
  • Private hotels and homestays across Kodagu district.
  • Local lodges and guesthouses in Bhagamandala.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Temple Timings: The temple is usually open from 6 am to 6 pm every day.
  • Monsoon Warning: The route from Madikeri to Talacauvery becomes difficult to access during heavy rains; it is advisable to avoid visiting Coorg/Talacauvery during heavy monsoon.
  • Dress Code: Dress modestly and respectfully, especially when visiting the holy Kundike.
  • Best Time to Visit: Post-monsoon and winters are the best seasons to visit Coorg and Talacauvery.
