Attiveri Bird Sanctuary

Attiveri is one of the popular bird sanctuaries in the Uttara Kannada district, spread over 22 sq km. and centered around Attiveri lake. Attiveri Bird Sanctuary is home to about 75 species of bird. Both residents and migrants can be seen. 

Key attractions at Bird Sanctuary:

  • Commonly seen birds: Red-naped Ibis, cormorants, hornbills, kingfishers, Spoonbill, Barn Swallow, egrets, bee-eaters, parakeets, and more
  • Mammals: Wild Pig, Jackal, Jungle Cat, mongoose, and others can also be seen.

Nearby:

Dandeli (75 kms), Anshi National Park (125 kms), Unchalli Falls (107 kms) and Banavasi (70 kms) are other places of interest to visit along with Attiveri Bird Sanctuary.

Timing:

The Bird Sanctuary is open from 6 AM till 6 PM on all days.
