Introduction

Beluru, a small but historically rich town, is famed for its magnificent Chennakesava Temple – an architectural masterpiece of the Hoysala era. Visit this sanctuary of art and devotion to witness a symphony of stone carvings and spiritual serenity.

  • The Chennakesava Temple took over a century to complete, involving three generations of artisans.
  • The temple is renowned for its 42 Madanikas—celestial maiden sculptures—each distinct and exquisitely detailed.
  • Beluru and Halebidu are often collectively called the “Hoysala Capitals” and are proposed UNESCO World Heritage sites.
