The UNESCO world heritage site of Hampi is near to this craft village heritage and can be easily paid a visit to.  The craft village will be open from June and the Karnataka state handicraft is responsible for putting the village in place and working.

HANDMADE SOUVENIRS TO TAKE HOME

For a long time, the artisans have created different crafts that utilize the water hyacinth and the banana fiber. There are about 300 people who reside in the Anegundi area and that attracts most of the tourists to visit Hampi. Initially, the place was not globally open, however, it is all set to get its global acclaim. Karnataka would be home to its first crafts tourism village in the district.

THE INITIATIVE- PROVIDING HELP TO ARTISANS

The main project is to renovate and beautify the houses of artisans along with the streets and restoration of the old structures in the whole village. They have also been doing this work on a priority basis and all the renovation is free of cost. All the upgrades in the village will invite more tourists to the locality which will pump the tourism.

The basic materials required for the making of mats, baskets, and bags are raw material souvenirs that are readily available in the area as bananas are grown there in a huge number. Other than visiting this craft village you can also visit other places near Hampi.
